G.I. Bill
In President Bush's State of the Union address on Monday he touched on the subject of the G.I. Bill, which offers educational benefits to memebers of the military. He asked Congress to pass legislation that allows members of the military to transfer their G.I. Bill education benefits to spouses and children. I do not see how or why this should not be passed. Each member of military service can contribute to it and receive benefits, provided their service was completed under honorable conditions. So if a veteran contributed to the G.I. Bill and gets a job right after service he/she might not want to, or need to use their benefits. The service members contribute to it, it should be their choice to use it or allow their spouse and or child to use it. If I weren't using my benefits now I would certainly want my future children to be able to use them. College isn't cheap and it would be nice to know that if I had to, I could rely on the G.I. Bill to help provide my family with a good education.

Politics
I'm not that big on politics but I appreciate the humor in this.
In a news conference Deanna Favre announced she will be the starting QB for the Packers this coming Sunday. Deanna asserts that she is qualified to be starting QB because she has spent the past 16 years married to Brett while he played QB for the Packers. During this period of time she became familiar with the definition of a corner blitz, and is now completely comfortable with other terminology of the Packers offense. A survey of Packers fans shows that 50% of those polled supported the move.Does this sound idiotic and unbelievable to you? Well, Hillary Clinton makes the same claims as to why she is qualified to be President and 50% of democrats polled agreed. She has never run a City, County, or State.
When told that Hillary Clinton has experience because she has 8 years in the white house, Dick Morris stated “so has the pastry chef”.

Karma
This morning I turned on the t.v. and the one channel that comes in was of course cartoons. Now these were obviously cartoons geared towards younger age groups, perhaps 4-5 and up. I was getting some things together when I heard the cartoon mention karma. Kids are being exposed to philosophy at 5? I don't think I heard about karma until I was about 16 or 17. I suppose its good that they learn at an early age the basic meaning of karma. Being responisble for ones actions and "what goes around comes around" as stated by the cartoon.

The blog....
Yet another social Internet phenomenon. Millions of people pouring out their feelings, their views and opinions of anything and everything. People wanting to share information, voice their opinion, their disapproval. Personal thoughts made public for the world to see. What happened to writing in journals? Do people really care what someone else has to say? Or is it just a way for people to get things off their chest, feeling better knowing that someone might read it and actually sympathize. I don't yet understand it, but give it time and I'm sure I will. Don't consider me a hypocrite for having a blog about why people blog. This serves a higher purpose.
